  As stated in our Code of Ethics, we are committed to protecting and promoting human rights.

The Linde Code of Conduct for Suppliers obliges suppliers to comply with social, environmental and ethical minimum standards.

We are committed to protecting the health and safety of our employees, contractors and other business partners as laid out in our global SHEQ (safety, health, environment and quality) policy.

Our compliance programme aims to prevent misconduct and to identify possible compliance violations. Suspected cases can be reported to the Linde Integrity Line.

We conduct internal surveys worldwide on labour standards and human rights to verify whether our subsidiaries have incorporated processes to protect social standards.

Labour standards

  In our Code of Ethics, we commit to protecting and promoting human rights. This includes the prohibition of discrimination, harassment, slavery and servitude; upholding the right to freedom of peaceful assembly and association and the right to fair remuneration.

The Code of Conduct for Suppliers obliges our suppliers to comply with minimum social standards.

Our diversity management also aims to prevent discrimination and to actively promote equal opportunities.

We conduct internal surveys worldwide on social standards and human rights. In addition, we aim to verify whether our subsidiaries have incorporated processes to protect social standards. Issues addressed include preventing forced and child labour as well as discrimination, and upholding the right to exercise freedom of association and to negotiate collective bargaining agreements.

Suspected breaches against our guidelines can be registered at the Linde Integrity Line.

Environment

  Our commitment to protecting the environment is outlined in Linde's Code of Ethics. Our global SHEQ (safety, health, environment and quality) policy provides a framework for implementing these requirements.

Our environmental management system, our risk management system and our product stewardship programme are geared towards minimising the environmental impact of our processes and products. This includes preventative measures such as risk analyses and certification of our sites in line with international standards, as well as monitoring instruments such as audits.

Raising employee awareness of environmental and safety issues is also an important factor, and one which we address through various channels, including training initiatives and awareness campaigns.

Beyond this, our Code of Conduct for Suppliers obliges our suppliers to comply with minimum environmental standards.

We are helping to tackle major ecological challenges with our energy and environmental technologies. This includes solutions that help to reduce the environmental impact of fossil fuels and cut CO2 emissions. We are also driving forward the development of alternative fuels and renewable energy sources. Furthermore, our gases are used to improve the quality of raw and drinking water supplies and to purify wastewater.

Our social projects around the world also support environmental initiatives.

Anti-corruption

  1. Work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery
  Our Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct for Suppliers prohibit corruption for all employees and suppliers worldwide. These directives are backed by supplementary guidelines, including regulations governing competition and anti-trust laws as well as our Ethical-Legal Principles Procurement.

The primary aim of our compliance programme is to prevent misconduct and to investigate and follow up on possible violations. Suspected violations can be reported to the Linde Integrity Line.
